Privacy Policy

The short version. Be Timeful works entirely on your iPhone. You do not need an account. There is no analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking code in the app. Nothing read from Apple Health ever leaves your device. If you turn on Backup & Sync, only the entries, reflections and category names you created are stored, so they can reach your other devices.

1. Who we are

Be Timeful is published by AJP Studios LLC ("we", "us"). You can reach us any time at support@betimeful.app.

2. Information stored on your device

By default, everything you record stays on your iPhone and is never sent to us:

Time entries — what you were doing, its category, and the start and end times.
Daily reflections — how a day felt, plus an optional short note.
Your schedule — your usual wake and sleep times, and any per-day adjustments.
Custom categories — any category names you add yourself.

If you never sign in, this information stays on your device and is removed when you delete the app.

3. Information we store when you turn on Backup & Sync

Backup & Sync is optional and off until you turn it on. It exists so your history can move between devices you own. When enabled, we store:

Your account identifier and email address, provided by Sign in with Apple. If you choose Apple's Hide My Email, we only ever receive the relay address — we never see your real one.
The content listed in section 2 — your time entries, reflections and custom category names — associated with that account.

That is the complete list. We do not collect your name, contacts, photos, precise location, device advertising identifier, or any usage analytics.

4. Apple Health

Health data is never uploaded, under any setting. This is a hard rule in how the app is built, not a preference.

If you connect Apple Health, Be Timeful requests read-only access to exactly two things: sleep analysis and workouts. They are used on your device, and only to offer suggestions — for example, proposing a later wake time on a morning you slept in, or offering to add a workout you recorded.

Health data is processed entirely on your iPhone and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else.
Suggestions are only ever suggestions. Nothing is added to your day unless you tap to save it — and what gets saved is an ordinary entry you chose to create.
Be Timeful never writes anything back to Apple Health.
Health data is never used for advertising, marketing, or sold or shared with anyone. We do not use it for any purpose beyond the on-device suggestions described here.
You can revoke access at any time in the iPhone Health app, under Sharing & Apps.

4a. Subscriptions and payments

Be Timeful+ purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We never see or store your payment details, and your subscription status is checked on your device through Apple's StoreKit — it is not stored on our servers and is not linked to a Backup & Sync account.

5. How your information is used

Only to run the app for you: to show your day, and — if you enabled it — to sync your history to your other devices. We do not profile you, advertise to you, or use your content to train machine-learning models.

6. How information is shared

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information. Your synced content is stored with one infrastructure provider acting on our behalf:

Supabase — hosts the database and handles authentication. They process this data solely to provide that service to us.

There are no advertising networks, analytics providers, or data brokers involved, because the app contains no such code. We may disclose information if legally required to do so, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.

7. Security

Traffic between the app and our infrastructure is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Synced records are protected by row-level security rules so an account can only ever read and write its own data. No system is perfectly secure, but the amount of information Be Timeful holds is deliberately small.

8. Data retention and deleting your data

Never signed in? Nothing of yours exists on our servers. Deleting the app removes your data.
Signing out leaves your synced copy in place so you can sign back in later.
Deleting your account — available in the app under Settings → Delete Account — permanently removes your account and all synced entries, reflections and categories from our servers. This is immediate and cannot be undone. Data held on your device is separate; remove it by deleting the app.

You may also email support@betimeful.app to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information, and we will respond within 30 days.

9. Children

Be Timeful is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International users

We are based in the United States, and information stored through Backup & Sync is processed there. If you use the app from elsewhere, you understand your information will be processed in the United States. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data — the deletion controls above cover most of this directly, and you can email us for anything else.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page, and note anything significant in the app or its release notes.
